BLACK VETERANS ENGAGEMENT HUB

Supporting the Vision of Operation VALOUR

What is Op VALOUR?

Op VALOUR is the UK’s national system designed to make it easier for veterans to access support. It brings together organisations across the country that provide help with:

  • Housing

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Employment

  • Financial support

  • Transition to civilian life

Instead of veterans having to figure everything out on their own, Op VALOUR connects services so the right help can be found more easily.

CivDivCIC is developing a Black Veterans Engagement Hub in partnership with the West Indian Association of Service Personnel (WASP). The hub strengthens engagement, community connection, and access to support for veterans across the United Kingdom.

CivDivCIC does not replace existing services. Instead, it acts as a community engagement gateway, helping veterans connect with the wider network of support available across the Armed Forces community. The hub aligns with the wider national approach to improving coordination and access to veteran services, including the principles of Operation VALOUR.

WHAT IS THE ENGAGEMENT HUB?

The CivDivCIC Engagement Hub is a community-based model focused on:

  • Veteran engagement through regular activity

  • Community connection and peer support

  • Heritage recognition and storytelling

  • Partnership working across the veteran sector

  • Access to wider support services

It provides a trusted space where veterans can reconnect, participate, and access support pathways through partner organisations.

HOW THE HUB WORKS

We bring veterans together through regular community activities designed to reduce isolation and strengthen connection.

Activities include:

  • Monthly Veterans Lunch

  • Community engagement events

  • Peer networking opportunities

  • Remembrance and commemorative events

  • Collaboration with heritage organisations

  • Preservation of lived experience

SUPPORTING THE VISION OF OPERATION VALOUR

CivDivCIC contributes to the wider national effort to improve coordination and access across the veteran support system.

The CivDivCIC Engagement Hub aligns with UK Government veteran support priorities under Operation VALOUR, which focuses on improving access to services and support for veterans.
